What are the lead times on my items?
Production lead times vary depending on what you order and if you ordered multiple items. Lead times are stated to the best of our ability on the individual product descriptions. If you order multiple items in a single order it may delay lead times slightly. While we strive to meet projected lead times, delays can occur, but rest assured you will receive your order as proficiently as possible. Do your bumpers affect airbag functionality?
No, one misconception of airbags is that they are triggered by impact to the bumper, this is not true. There are sensors that activate the deployment of the airbag. Sensors are located either in the front of the vehicle in the passenger or engine compartment. Different types of sensors measuring wheel speed, seat occupant status, brake pressure and impact, and other vehicle status indicators are monitored by the airbag control unit located in the front portion of the cabin. The sensors relay signals to the airbag control unit, which analyzes the data and can orchestrate safety features like seat belt lock, automatic door locks, as well as airbag deployment.
Why does my tire carrier move?
Tire carrier mounts are on a linear mounting plane, movement in the tire carrier is not uncommon and considered normal. Due to the higher point of weight, the tire becomes a fulcrum and can cause minor movements to be exaggerated. Our tire mounts are adjustable and setting the tire to the lowest position will reduce the amount of movement noticed.
My tire carrier is making rattling noises.
The latch system in Hefty Fabworks bumpers uses a round rubber stop. Rattle occurs when the rubber stop softens over time. To eliminate rattling, a washer can be placed behind the rubber stop to space it out. If you need a new rubber stop, please contact Hefty Fabworks for service parts.
